Who are we?
We are an EU association based in Hungary.
Our official name in Hungarian language is:
Magyar Akvakultúra Technológiai és Innovációs Platform Egyesület.
Our English language name is: Hungarian Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform Association.
Our short name is: HUNATiP. We will use our short name throughout this document.
HUNATiP manages the EPFC website at https://efpc.net and publishes content on behalf of our members. We started this role in May 2026, as a continuation of the association’s activities taking over from our Belgium partner, Inagro vzw, Ieperseweg 87 – 8800 Rumbeke-Beitem.
The protection of your personal data is of the utmost importance to HUNATiP. In this Privacy Policy, we describe the measures taken to guarantee the protection of your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). With this explanation, we wish to clearly inform you how we at HUNATiP take care of your personal data, what personal data we collect from you, and why HUNATiP does this.
HUNATiP, Anna liget utca 35, Szarvas, 5540, Hungary with enterprise number HU 04-02-0003563 is the data controller of your personal data applicable to or in use within the various processes and systems within HUNATiP.
As the data controller, HUNATiP takes the necessary technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. These measures apply to all systems, employees, and processes that constitute the information systems of HUNATiP.

What personal data do we collect?
“Personal data” means all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
HUNATiP collects and processes various personal data that may relate to you regarding the products and services that HUNATiP offers to its members, farmers, schools, partners, suppliers, participants, etc.
These categories of personal data include:
- Identification details: such as name, first name, agricultural number, address, telephone and mobile number, email, national register number
- Business details: company name, enterprise number, supplier details
- Financial and transaction data: bank account numbers, payments;
- Electronic identification data: IP addresses, cookies;
- Information about your personal interests in agricultural and horticultural sectors or themes;
- Sound recordings, photos and video material;
HUNATiP also processes personal data for statistical research, but this data is anonymized. This means that we cannot trace this data back to individuals or persons. Therefore, we can no longer identify you based on this data.
The personal data we collect is adequate and relevant for our purposes. We limit our collection of your personal data to the minimum amount necessary for the purposes for which we process the personal data.
How do we collect your data?
This can happen in various ways, including:
- Personal/telephone/email contact
- Contact forms on our website
- Contacts at seminars, networking events, study days, trade fairs, …
- Contacts through our partners and government agencies
- Social media
Why do we collect your data?
HUNATiP requires this to carry out standard business operations and to provide services. In accordance with the GDPR, this corresponds to either:
- The legitimate interest
- Contractual agreement
- Legal obligation that HUNATiP must comply with
- A task that the Hunatip Association must carry out as a government body or knowledge institution in the context of the General Interest or public authority
- Consent, if the processing is based on this
All personal data is used solely for the following purposes:
- Professional contacts via telephone, mobile, email, Teams, ….
- Support from the administration department
- Services for your company and employees (scheduling appointments, sharing results, advisory reports and warning messages,…)
- Newsletters and information regarding our seminars, trade fairs, operations, and the activities of the Hunatip Association. An opt-in/opt-out option is provided for online communication.
- Providing training courses, study days, demonstrations, …
- Target group research into methods, insights, … via surveys.
- Marketing activities and promotional purposes
Recruitment & selection
HUNATiP receives and processes personal data of applicants for the purpose of recruiting a new employee.
The data collected comprises “General Identification Data” supplemented with additional information that is standard on a Curriculum Vitae.
This processing is based on the legal grounds of, on the one hand, the consent of the candidate employee and, on the other hand, our legitimate interest in recruiting the suitable candidate for a position.
HUNATiP will always ask for your consent to retain your data for future vacancies that may interest you and match your profile.
How long is your data retained?
The data is retained for as long as necessary to provide our services. Furthermore, as a data subject, you may request the deletion of your data earlier, without however violating statutory retention periods.
With whom do we share your data?
At no time do we sell or rent your data to individuals or companies that are not part of HUNATiP.
If HUNATiP uses an external processor (suppliers, partners, subcontractors, etc.), we will always ensure that your data is treated confidentially and used securely. The external processor will always be contractually bound to HUNATiP. Consequently, processors will never be permitted to use your personal data on their own initiative.
Events, demonstrations, trade fairs, study days
HUNATiP regularly organizes events, sometimes with external partners, such as consultations, study days, demonstrations, and trade fairs. To organize these events, we need your data. We therefore also use your personal data to invite you to these activities, usually via your email address, but possibly also in writing.
After an event, we sometimes use your data to deliver documentation, photo reports, satisfaction surveys…
Participant lists
If you participate in these events, your name, first name, and organization will be shared with the other participants if doing so would contribute to the purpose and success of the event. We do this, for example, at events specifically aimed at networking and making contacts.
Promotion, Photos and visual material
We take atmospheric photos and videos on various occasions. Our employees do this themselves, or we use professional photographers. We use these atmospheric photos and videos for promotional purposes, specifically to raise awareness of our operations. Permission will be requested when taking portrait photos.
Photos and films are processed via our media database. Employees of our “Information Technology, Communication and Marketing” departments have exclusive access to this media database and may use the material in the context of their assignments. This also means that they may publish this material via our website, social media, and printed materials. Additionally, photo and video material may be provided to other local authorities and (project) partners, but this is done under strict conditions and only for purposes that align with the mission of HUNATiP.
Other government agencies
HUNATiP is also a partner in numerous European projects. During the realization of these projects, it is often necessary to share personal data with project partners. As they also belong to the EU, they apply the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
HUNATiP attaches importance to the safe and careful handling of personal data within projects. For each project, clear agreements are made regarding data sharing, roles (such as controller or processor), and security measures. Personal data is collected and processed solely for reporting to the EU and/or for specific purposes within the project and is not retained longer than necessary.
External partners who gain access to shared data are informed of their obligations, and data processing agreements are concluded where necessary.
We do not share your personal data with third parties, except in the following cases:
- You give us written permission for this;
- We are legally obliged to do this;
- They are requested in the context of a judicial investigation;
Access to third parties
In order to process your personal data, we grant access to your personal data to our employees. We guarantee a similar level of protection by establishing a contractual agreement between HUNATiP and the employee. The employees are obliged to handle the data discreetly and subsequently only have access to your data that they need to perform their job. The employees of HUNATiP are required to follow GDPR awareness and to stay up to date regarding GDPR knowledge.
Social media

Automatic processing & profiling
HUNATiP does not engage in profiling, nor is there any fully automated processing of your personal data.
How do we protect your data?
HUNATiP provides the necessary technical and organizational measures to guarantee the security of your personal data.
HUNATiP has made every effort to implement security measures in its network and information systems to protect against unauthorized access and to safeguard the confidentiality of the personal and business data of its members, farmers, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, employees, etc.
Organizationally, we have a privacy statement and clear responsibilities and powers. In addition, the necessary processes and procedures are in place to optimally implement and follow this policy.
What are your rights and how can you exercise them?
As a data subject, you have certain rights. HUNATiP wants to ensure that you can exercise these easily:
- Right to information: you have the right to know what we collect from you, why we do this, what processing we perform on your data, etc.;
- Right of access: you may view your personal data at any time;
- Right to rectification: you have the right to correct and/or supplement your personal data;
- Right to erasure/right to be forgotten: you can request that we erase your personal data;
- Right to restriction of processing: your personal data may not be processed and modified (temporarily);
- Right to data portability: you have the right to request your personal data (copy). In addition, you may ask us to transfer your data directly to another entity.
- Right of objection: you may object to the processing of your personal data in direct marketing.
Please note that not all of these rights can be invoked automatically. In the event of a refusal, HUNATiP will always provide reasons why we cannot comply with your request.
Regarding photos and video material, you can speak to the organizer or photographer at the time and make it known that you do not wish to be filmed or photographed. If a photo or video is published in which you are recognizably depicted and you wish to have this publication removed, simply send your request by email to privacy@hunatip.hu . Do not forget to mention which photo or video it concerns and where you saw it. We may request additional information to verify whether your request is legitimate.
Furthermore, you can exercise your rights by contacting us via email at privacy@hunatip.hu or by letter to HUNATiP, Attn: Privacy Officer, 5540 Szarvas, Anna liget utca 35, Hungary. These rights can be exercised free of charge by submitting a clear request via our email address above. This request must state which right you wish to invoke, along with the necessary explanation, a copy of your identity card (please ensure that your photo and national register number are illegible), and how we can contact you. As soon as we are both satisfied with the response to your request, we will destroy the copy or scan.
Where can you go if you are not satisfied with the way we handle your personal data?
HUNATiP has a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Our Data Protection Officer guides HUNATiP in processing activities relating to personal data. We do our utmost to handle your personal data correctly.
