In 2020, the Practical Research Aquaculture Center from Inagro in Belgium will host for the fourth time a five-day workshop providing hands-on practical training on all relevant aspects in relation to Reproduction of European pikeperch (Sander lucioperca).
Organized and hosted by Stefan Teerlinck (Inagro) and taught by skilled experts Daniel Zarski (IARFR PAS) and Uros Ljubobratovic (NARIC) this workshop will combine theoretical and practical classes from induction of reproduction to egg quality assessment. After this workshop, participants will be able to improve and standardize their own reproduction on farm level.
In 2020, EPFC will not organize a dedicated workshop on the setup day of the Aquaculture Europe conference. But AE2020 wil lfeature a percid special session and the EPFC Core Group will hold its annual meeting.
Scope of the session: The general scope of the session is to open the discussion on the aquaculture of percids which, although quite varied, can presently be condensed into a few problematic areas, identified by stakeholders as curtailing expansion. The session will include four sub-themes, covering the most important fields and challenges facing the expansion of percid aquaculture. In effect the abstracts should meet, although not limited to, at least one of four subthemes.
